About YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio)
YOSA changes kids’ lives through music. We provide transformative music experiences to more than 2,500 young musicians ages 8-20 through YOSA Orchestras, YOSA Summer Symphony Camp, and YOSA School Partnerships. YOSA connects motivated young musicians together and provides a world-class experience that helps youth grow creatively, academically, and socially. YOSA seeks ways to remove financial and social barriers to high-quality music education and designs its activities around making music education programming more accessible to Bexar County youth.
Internship Summary
The Intern is an integral part of the YOSA Administrative Team, helping guarantee high-quality, personalized interactions between YOSA and the community. This Intern works closely with the Operations, Development, and Marketing Departments in:
Client relationship development and communication;
Social media and digital marketing;
Organizational impact research, reporting, and storytelling;
Enrollment, auditions, and program implementation;
Production and stage management;
Operations and programming procedures;
Other projects, events, and tasks as needed.
Most work will be done in the YOSA office, located at 106 Auditorium Circle, San Antonio, TX 78205 (downtown). Off-site and remote work may be required.
General Learning Objectives
By the end of the internship, the intern should expect to:
Learn about nonprofit fundraising, orchestral operations, and marketing;
Gain hands-on experience running a nonprofit arts education organization;
Gain a variety of new skills related to nonprofit fundraising, operations, and marketing;
Learn about YOSA and its impact.
Schedule
The Intern will work during YOSA office hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30–5:00 p.m. from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Qualifications
The Intern must be a Bexar County resident currently enrolled as an undergraduate college student.
This position requires the following qualities: integrity, a commitment to an extremely high level of customer service, confidentiality, a self-starter mentality, ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and an ability to interact effectively with diverse constituencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Performing arts background encouraged, but not required.
